A lot of comparison’s been expected and made between the console versions of FFXIII. Now that the game’s out, a conclusion should be easily reached, right? Well, for those who did not buy both versions just so they can compare, we’ve got a video right here to do that for you.

PS3 Sold Out

Yesterday, the news started to come in that PS3s were selling out all over America, both online and in retailers. Places like Amazon listed both the 120GB and 250GB as sold out, and shops such as Best Buy also reported low availability before eventually selling out. It seems that this upsurge of sales in the US is from God of War III, which saw its release on Tuesday.

This is obviously not an ideal scenario for Sony, who launched God of War III in America on Tuesday, however they will be pleased that the console finally seems to becoming a must have item in the US.

Furthermore, it seems that the UK is also starting to feel the pinch, with Game and Gameplay showing no stock and Argos also running out online. Other UK online stores such as Play.com still have some stock at the moment, but with the UK’s largest videogame retailer running out you have to wonder how long the others stock will last.

Lighter PS3 Slim CECH-2100A Revealed

Andriasang has uncovered news of lighter PlayStation 3 Slim model CECH-2100A on the way courtesy of a Japanese retailer.

The slight weight reduction from its current 3.2kg to 3.0kg will be indicated by a change in model number from CECH-2000A to the new CECH-2100A.

To quote: “It’s presumable that, aside from just the weight, something else has changed inside the system. Sony often makes minor hardware adjustments, changing the model number in the process.

The retailer expects Sony’s PS3 Slim shipments to switch to the new version in March.”

God of War III Intro Leaked

We are just about 11 days away from the release of a definitive GOTY 2010 called God of War III.
There are several video’s going around on the internet of the gameplay of God of War III and now the intro has also been leaked. The intro is magnificent and very very movie like to say the least. There are NO SPOILERS from new game so it wont spoil your GOW III experience unless of course you want to hold on enjoy it on full HD and 5.1 surround sound for which you’ll have to wait some more.

SOCOM 4 Debut HD Trailer

Sony just announced Socom 4, which comes as a big surprise since it’s being created by the franchise’s creators, Zipper Interactive team that just pushed MAG out the door a few weeks ago.
This trailer’s pretty heavy on CGI but it should give you a taste of what to expect from the fourth entry in the SOCOM franchise. Guns, shooting, and lots of squad control.

Free Copy of Red Faction: Guerrilla with Metro 2033

THQ has just announced that anyone purchasing Metro 2033 on PC on launch day will receive a free copy of acclaimed third-person open world shooter, Red Faction: Guerrilla, in the box.

This is definatly a good anti-piracy measure no doubt and THQ obviously believes that the incentive of bundling the game with Metro 2033 will prove more profitable than the continued sales of the game at a reduced price.

Metro 2033 will be released on March 19 on PC and Xbox 360.

Infinity Ward founders file suit against Activision

Just a day after their abrupt and very public ousting from Infinity Ward, former top brass Jason West and Vince Zampella have hit Activision with a lawsuit, citing unpaid “substantial royalty payments as part of their existing contracts for Modern Warfare 2.”

“Instead of thanking, lauding, or just plain paying Jason and Vince for giving Activision the most successful entertainment product ever offered to the public,” attorney Robert Schwartz said, “last month Activision hired lawyers to conduct a pretextual ‘investigation’ into unstated and unsubstantiated charges of ‘insubordination’ and ‘breach of fiduciary duty,’ which then became the grounds for their termination on Monday, March 1st.”

In addition to compensation, the suit seeks to return the contractual rights Zampella and West previously had to the Modern Warfare brand.

Uncharted 2 Title Update 1.06

Just as you thought, Naughty Dog will be updating Uncharted 2 tomorrow. After many players dislike the (1.05) update, Naughty Dog has decided to update the game 1.06.

Title Update 1.06 includes a couple under-the-hood fixes we needed to make that don’t affect gameplay. Beyond that, we’ve also made the following updates:

Removed automatic shoulder selection when players click the L1 shoulder button to aim
Delayed the appearance of the scoreboard to allow time for players to view any medals received simultaneously with player death

At the same time the Title Update is released, we’ll also be pushing live updates to other aspects of our multiplayer. These updates include:

Adjusted hitbox attributes so that players will take less damage to the character’s legs
Decreased kill radius of grenades by 1 meter
Decreased accuracy of Down the Irons by 15%
Reduced rate of fire of the FAL by 10%
Reduced rate of fire for the Dragon Sniper by 10%
Collision and geometry changes to “The Fort” to prevent intentional glitching by players

Microsoft Ships 90 Million Windows 7 Copies

Microsoft reported sales of 90 million copies of Windows 7 at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference on Tuesday.

The 90-million sales figure, announced by Microsoft Chief Financial Officer Peter Klein at the San Francisco-based event, represented a significant increase over a previous report. In late January, Microsoft indicated that 60 million Windows 7 licenses had been sold through the end of its fiscal second quarter. Klein also said that there was a continuing momentum for Windows 7, which he called the “fastest selling operating system in history.”
