This is definatly a good anti-piracy measure no doubt and THQ obviously believes that the incentive of bundling the game with Metro 2033 will prove more profitable than the continued sales of the game at a reduced price.

Metro 2033 will be released on March 19 on PC and Xbox 360.

“Instead of thanking, lauding, or just plain paying Jason and Vince for giving Activision the most successful entertainment product ever offered to the public,” attorney Robert Schwartz said, “last month Activision hired lawyers to conduct a pretextual ‘investigation’ into unstated and unsubstantiated charges of ‘insubordination’ and ‘breach of fiduciary duty,’ which then became the grounds for their termination on Monday, March 1st.”

In addition to compensation, the suit seeks to return the contractual rights Zampella and West previously had to the Modern Warfare brand.

Just as you thought, Naughty Dog will be updating Uncharted 2 tomorrow. After many players dislike the (1.05) update, Naughty Dog has decided to update the game 1.06.

Title Update 1.06 includes a couple under-the-hood fixes we needed to make that don’t affect gameplay. Beyond that, we’ve also made the following updates:

• Removed automatic shoulder selection when players click the L1 shoulder button to aim
• Delayed the appearance of the scoreboard to allow time for players to view any medals received simultaneously with player death

At the same time the Title Update is released, we’ll also be pushing live updates to other aspects of our multiplayer. These updates include:

• Adjusted hitbox attributes so that players will take less damage to the character’s legs
• Decreased kill radius of grenades by 1 meter
• Decreased accuracy of Down the Irons by 15%
• Reduced rate of fire of the FAL by 10%
• Reduced rate of fire for the Dragon Sniper by 10%
• Collision and geometry changes to “The Fort” to prevent intentional glitching by players

The 90-million sales figure, announced by Microsoft Chief Financial Officer Peter Klein at the San Francisco-based event, represented a significant increase over a previous report. In late January, Microsoft indicated that 60 million Windows 7 licenses had been sold through the end of its fiscal second quarter. Klein also said that there was a continuing momentum for Windows 7, which he called the “fastest selling operating system in history.”

Activision Blizzard has announced that the publisher’s newly formed internal studio, Sledgehammer Games, will handle an iteration of the Call of Duty franchise in 2011, taking over the reigns from franchise stalwarts and creators Infinity Ward. The Sledgehammer Games title according to the press release will be an “action-adventure” game.

Newly formed Sledgehammer Games will be lead by Dead Space veterans Glen A. Schofield and Michael Condrey. While Infinity Ward continue working on downloadable map packs for Modern Warfare 2, Treyarch – the studio behind World at War – will stillrelease their Call of Duty game this autumn.

Sony has announced that the Playstation Network has been restored:

We are aware that the internal clock functionality in the PS3 units other than the slim model, recognized the year 2010 as a leap year. Having the internal clock date change from February 29 to March 1 (both GMT), we have verified that the symptoms are now resolved and that users are able to use their PS3 normally.

If the time displayed on the XMB is still incorrect, users are able to adjust time settings manually or via the internet. If we have new information, we will update you through the PlayStation.Blog or PlayStation.com.
