If you guys like Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill vol 1 and vol 2 and John Woo’s Stranglehold. Then this is the game for you. Wet is a Third-Person Action Shooter from Artificial Mind and Movement. The game follows so much of Quentin’s and John Woo’s direction in their movies that you will really have feel for it. Will Wet be a Blockbuster hit or will it be another B-Grade film. Read on to find out.
STORY
Wet’s Story follows some what of Quentin’s stories in mind following up some of the old 70’s action flicks lines. The Protagonist Rubi is a hard assed(no kidding) girl who is willing to increase the mortality rate for men when there is a fat paycheck involved. She will kill people, collect brief-cases, get double crossed, comes back for revenge and kill more people. Its not a bad recipe but then genuinely it makes a complete mess of it. Although the corny lines make it really fun and entertaining. The huge ensemble of characters just have a flat or no character development it makes a bigger mess of things.

Rubi, The Protagonist
DESIGN
There is no other game out there can have it as straight forward than wet with one story split into 12 chapters and tons of blood and guts that range to 6-8hrs of gameplay. Beating the game unlocks challenge mode which is something like the arcade mode in Modern warfare but in Wet style, this allows players to play isolated sections and compete for points with all this said and done Wet still allows you to experience the full game by just playing the main story mode. The game is all about showing off its unique style, which packs quite a punch. The game follows even some old school style like destroying skulls to close enemy generating doors, visibly rack up points and jump through loops of fire to get score multipliers. You are here to kill people and Wet is made to make you look good when you do it. Points are gained by killing the bad guys and how good you do it. You spend those points by upgrading Rubi’s Abilities that maybe Acrobatic or Upgrading your weapons. Acrobatic Upgrades – most of which you wont use or simply wished that you had it before like shooting will cruising down a Zip line or attacking from the air with your sword. Weapon Upgrades are absolutely useless as the your enemies just gets toughened up to withstand it and makes you feel that you are using the same weapon as before the upgrade. Regardless of how you upgrade Rubi, Wet offers you a variety of options with which you can approach its physics and logic defying acrobatic combat system.

Logic Defying Acrobatics
GAMEPLAY
Rubi’s the kind of girl who spends most of her time on her knees(sliding and blowing a guys brain out or stabbing some one you know where!) she also spends an equal amount in the air. If you are leaping, sliding or even jumping pulling the trigger on her gun will let the game go in Slow mo. As you are always dual wielded one hand will lock on to a target while the other is controlled manually. If you are not in slow mo then it is probably that you are doing something wrong, it can look a little ridiculous some times but it is fun none the less. when you are not shooting, jumping and sliding will look and feel awkward. The game is designed to set you in motion and with precise aim so that you can deal with some damage. You will move from room to room clearing of dozens of baddies and stopping when they are all dead. The game’s slow mo aim is fun in the beginning but it gets quite repetitive with little more than room clearing. Quick time events are put up on occasion but they are poorly integrated into the action. The game tries for variety but quickly runs out of tricks. An exciting car chase sequence where Rubi fights off some baddies on congested high way is one of the best scenarios in the game, huge chain guns are put up in strategic locations which will help you blow out some steam and some time you will end up getting some blood on your face and that changes your perspective in red, black and white mode(something like black and white with red also) which tweaks the scoring system and gives you slightly different style in your kills all though like i said earlier it gets repetitive. Given its relatively short length wet barely gets by with its limited repertoire. Painted by numbers, it will just hold your interest beyond a single run through the game.

Red, Black and White. A new taste of violence.
PRESENTATION
Wet puts a lot of effort in the presentation, like the cult cinema play which has been brought out strong with some freaky ensemble of cast, extreme acts of violence and random intermission scenes that look like they were hauled out of some ancient vault. There is even a film style filter (that is the graining or noise in the film display when you go to see a movie) to show the authenticity of the game although it can be irritating to some players and it can be turned off at your choice.

Getting Ready to chop some heads off.
The music in the game is plus point in this game which offers some strangely mixed and psychotic tunes it holds the bar for this game very well. You will need to respect the games conscious efforts to do its own thing it however struggles in its own technical performance. Characters and environment can act lifeless and begin to have some irritating feeling on some people when played. Most of the problems come when you try to climb a ladder as there comes most of the faulty graphical glitches.

Some habits just die hard. Wall running for example.
CONCLUSION
Wet has some good ideas but it just falls just short of being a good game. The game feels slightly dated and is rough around the edges. If you don’t take it too seriously then it just a fun game to have, just don’t look to close at it.

The game just falls short of being the best there is.
